Robert I, known as The Liberator, was born on July 11th, 1274 in Writtle,Scotland.  The Liberator's father was Robert De Brus and his mother was Marjory De Carrick.  His paternal grandparents were Lord Robert De Brus Of Annandale, Sheriff Of Cumgerland, Governor Of Carlise and Isabel De Clare; his maternal grandparents were Earl Neil De Carrick and Margaret Stewart. He had a sister named Maud.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 54 on June 7th, 1329 in Cardross Castle,Dunbartonshire,Scotland.


The Liberator's first family with Elizabeth De Burgh

‌The Liberator and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony in 1302 in Writtle,Scotland.  They had two sons and two daughters, named David II, John, Matilda and Margaret.


The Liberator's second family with Matilda De Mar

They had a daughter named Marjory.
