Maud was born in 1163.1   Maud's father was Earl Hugh VI (Kevelioc) De Meschines Of Chester and her mother was Lady Bertrade De Montfort.  Her paternal grandparents were Earl Ranulph IV De Meschiness Of Chester and Lady Maud De Gloucester; her maternal grandparents were Earl Simon III De Montfort Of Evreux and Lady Amice De Beaumont. She had a brother and six sisters, named Ranulph V, Hawise, Beatrix, Amicia, Adeliz, Mabel and Agnes.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 70 on January 6th, 1233.1 


Maud's family with Earl David I De Huntington

‌Maud and David I were married in a religious ceremony on August 26th, 1178.  They had two sons and three daughters, named Robert Scot, John Scot, Margaret Scot, Isabel Scot and Ada.
