William I, known as The Couqueror, was born on October 14th, 1028 in FALAISE,NORMANDY and his baptism took place in 1066.1   The Couqueror's father was Duke Robert I (The Devil) De Normandy and his mother was Lady Arlotta(Herleva) Fulbertsdoittir Of Falaise.  His paternal grandparents were Duke Richard II (The Good) De Normandy and Judith Berengar Of Brittany; his maternal grandparents were Fulbert (The Tanner) Thorkillsson Of Falaise and Princess Doda Mcalpin Of Scotland, Concubine Of Fulbert Falaise. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Ralph, Nele, Felicia, Stephanie, Adelaide, Adeliza and Godiva.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Robert, Eudes, Robert, ?, Emma, Isabella, Muriel and Mathilde.  He died at the age of 58 on September 9th, 1087 in HERMANTRUBE,NEAR ROUEN,FRANCE.  He was buried on September 9th, 1087 in Abbey St. Stephe,Caen,France.1 1 


The Couqueror's first family with Maud Peverel - Concubine

‌The Couqueror and Maud were married in a religious ceremony in 1040.2   They had a son named The Elder.


The Couqueror's second family with Matilda De Flanders

‌The Couqueror and Matilda were married in a religious ceremony in 1053 in CATHEDRAL NOTRE DAME D'EU,NORMANDY.2   They had four sons and seven daughters, named Curthose, Richard, Rufus 'The Red', Beaucleric, Fine Scholar, Cecilia, Adela, Constance, Gundred, Agatha, Adeliza and Mathilda.
