Robert was born in 1035 in NORMANDY.1   Robert's father was Viscount Herluin De Conteville and his mother was Lady Arlotta(Herleva) Fulbertsdoittir Of Falaise.  His paternal grandfather was Earl Jean De Blois Of Conteville; his maternal grandparents were Fulbert (The Tanner) Thorkillsson Of Falaise and Princess Doda Mcalpin Of Scotland, Concubine Of Fulbert Falaise. He had a brother and four sisters, named Eudes, Emma, Isabella, Muriel and Mathilde.  He was the second youngest of the six children. He had five half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Andre, Eudes, Ralph, The Couqueror, Nele, Felicia, Stephanie, Adelaide, Adeliza and Godiva.  He died at the age of 58 on December 8th, 1093 in France.  He was buried in Grestain Abbey.1

‌Robert and Matilda were married in a religious ceremony in 1049.1   They had two sons and three daughters, named Hubert, The Burgo, Denise, Agnes and Emma.
