Robert II, known as Bossu, was born in 1116 in Dudley,Worcester,England.  Bossu's father was Earl Robert I De Beaumont Of Leicester and his mother was Lady Isabelle Capet Of Vermandois.  His paternal grandparents were Lord Roger De Pontaudemer and Countess Adeliza De Meulent; his maternal grandparents were Count Hugh Magnus (The Great) Capet Of Vermandois and Countess Adelaide Carolingian Of Vermandois. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Waleran IV, Hugh, Isabel, Auberye, Agnes, Amicade, Adeline and Maud.  He was the youngest of the nine children. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named William III, Reginald, Ralph, Gundrada and Adelide.  He died at the age of 52 on April 5th, 1168.


Bossu's family with Lady Amice De Gael

‌Bossu and Amice were married in a religious ceremony in 1121.1   They had a son and four daughters, named Robert III, Isabel (elizabeth), Margaret, Amice and Hawise.
