Hugh II was born in 0938 in Of,Paris,Seine,France and his baptism took place in France (Desc. of.1   Hugh II's father was King Hugh "Magnus" (The Great) Capet Of France and his mother was Princess Hedwige De Saxony Of The Holy Roman Empire.  His paternal grandparents were King Robert I Capet Of France, Count Of Paris and Lady Beatrice (Widow Of Conrad I Of Argenau) Carolingian Of Vermandois; his maternal grandparents were Emperor Henry I (The Fowler) De Saxony Of The Holy Roman Empire and Saint, Countess Matilda De Ringelheim. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Otto I, Henri I, Odo Henry, Emma and Beatrice.  He was the second oldest of the six children. He had two half-sisters named Alberada and Gerberge.  He died in Paris,France.  He was buried in St Denis Abbey,St Denis,Seine,France.1 1

‌Hugh II and Adelaide were married in a religious ceremony about 0958 in France.1   They had a son and four daughters, named The Pious, Hedwige, Maud, Giselle and Adele.
