Hugh "Magnus", known as The Great, was born in 0895 in Paris,Seine,France and his baptism took place in 0936 in France.1   The Great's father was King Robert I Capet Of France, Count Of Paris and his mother was Lady Beatrice (Widow Of Conrad I Of Argenau) Carolingian Of Vermandois.  His paternal grandparents were Duke Robert (Fortis) De Neustria Count Of Wormgu and Adelaide (Adela) De Alsace; his maternal grandparents were Count Herbert I Carolingian Of Vermandois and Lady Bertha De Neustria Of Morvos. He had two sisters named Hildebrand "Adela Liegarde" and Emma.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died in Deurdan.  He was buried in St. Denis,France.1 1

‌The Great and Hedwige were married in a religious ceremony about 0938 in Mainz Oder,Ingelheim,Rhineland,Germany.2   They had four sons and two daughters, named Hugh II, Otto I, Henri I, Odo Henry, Emma and Beatrice.
