Margaret was born about 1342 in Dundonald Castle,Irvine,Ayrshire,Scotland.  Margaret's father was King Robert II Stewart Of Scotland, Earl Of Atholl and her mother was Elizabeth Mure Of Rowallon.  Her paternal grandparents were High Steward Walter Stewart Of Scotland and Princess Marjory De Brus Of Scotland; her maternal grandparents were Sir Adam Mure and Janet Mure. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Robert John III, Robert, Alexander, Jean (Joan) and Elizabeth.  She was the third oldest of the six children. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named David, Isabel, Elizabeth Catherine and Edigia Egidia Jill.  She died about 1410 in Scotland.

‌Margaret and Iain were married in a religious ceremony on June 14th, 1350 in 2nd wife.1   They had two sons and a daughter, named Donald, Mangy and Agnes.
