Carter Beverley 
Carter was born on April 17th, 1774 in "Blandfield", Essex Co., VA. Carter's father was Robert Beverley and his mother was Maria Byrd Carter. His paternal grandparents were William Beverley and Elizabeth Bland; his maternal grandparents were Landon Carter and Maria Byrd. He had nine brothers and six sisters, named William, Robert, Robert, Burton, Byrd, James Mills, Munford, Peter Randolph, McKenzie, Maria, Lucy, Anna Munford, Evelyn, Jane Bradshaw and Harriet. He was the seventh oldest of the sixteen children. He died at the age of 70 in 1844.-
