Margaret Melissa Dalton 
Margaret was born on May 27th, 1862 in Dalton, Stokes County, North Carolina. Margaret's father was David Nicholas Dalton and her mother was Margaret Melissa Rives. Her paternal grandparents were Absolom Bostic Dalton and Nancy Poindexter; her maternal grandparents were William Alston Rives and Frances H Smith. She had six brothers and two sisters, named William, John, Robert, Rufus, David, Walter, Frances and Nancy. She was the second youngest of the nine children. She had six half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Thomas, Charles, Marshall, John, Oscar, Alfred, Georgia, Cora and Bertha. She died due to natural causes or old age at the age of 85 on November 1st, 1947 in Dalton, Stokes County, North Carolina. She was buried in Phillips Family Cemetery, Pinnacle, North Carolina.-
