Alfred Scales Dalton

Alfred was born on May 24th, 1884.  Alfred's father was David Nicholas Dalton and his mother was Rebecca Jane Westmoreland.  His paternal grandparents were Absolom Bostic Dalton and Nancy Poindexter; his maternal grandparents were Alexander Westmoreland and Frances Marshall. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Charles, Marshall, John, Oscar, Georgia, Cora and Bertha.  He was the second youngest of the nine children. He had six half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William, John, Robert, Rufus, David, Walter, Frances, Nancy and Margaret.  He died at the age of 71 on February 28th, 1956.
