Robert E. Lee was born on October 10th, 1869 in Cheroke Co.,TX. Robert E. Lee's father was Benjamin Preston Riddle and his mother was Mary Ann Bass. His paternal grandparents were Alexander Riddle and Mary Bynum; his maternal grandparents were Willis Jordan Bass and Elizabeth Lillian (Betsy) Hardin. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named John Byrum, Alexander Willis, Nicholas Buchanan, Benjamin T., William H., Jordon G., Charles H., Mary Emma, Mattie and Effie. He was the third youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 7 on November 25th, 1876 in Van Zandt Co.,TX.-
