Martha Elizabeth (Mattie) Riddle 
Martha Elizabeth, known as Mattie, was born on June 3rd, 1866 in Cheroke Co.,TX. Mattie's father was Benjamin Preston Riddle and her mother was Mary Ann Bass. Her paternal grandparents were Alexander Riddle and Mary Bynum; her maternal grandparents were Willis Jordan Bass and Elizabeth Lillian (Betsy) Hardin. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named John Byrum, Alexander Willis, Nicholas Buchanan, Benjamin T., William H., Jordon G., Robert E. Lee, Charles H., Mary Emma and Effie. She was the fourth youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 80 on August 22nd, 1946 in Van Zandt Co.,TX. She was buried in Cana Cemetery,Wills Point,TX.1 -
