His paternal grandparents were John Bass Sr. and Love Harris; his maternal grandfather is William Winborne. He had six brothers and three sisters, named John, Abraham, Issac, Jethro, Job, Drury(Demsey?), Elizabeth, Alice and Undin (Eurodice). He had a half-brother named Thomas. He died on October 12th, 1791 in Franklin County,North Carolina.-
