Henry I, known as Beauclerc, was born in September 1068 in Selby, York, England..  Beauclerc's father was King William I of England (The Conqueror) and his mother was Mathildeof Flandres.  His paternal grandparents were Duke Robert I of Normandy and Herleve (Arlette) of Falaise; his maternal grandparents were Ct. Baudouin V of Flandres and Prcs Adele of France. He had a brother and two sisters, named Robert of Normandy, Adela of Normandy and Gundred of England.  He died at the age of 67 on December 1st, 1135 in Rouen, France.  He was buried on January 4th, 1136 in Reading, Berkshire, England..
