Mathildeof Flandres was born in 1032 in ,Flandres, Belgium.  Mathildeof Flandres' father was Ct. Baudouin V of Flandres and her mother was Prcs Adele of France.  Her paternal grandparents were Ct. Baudouin IV of Flandres and Otgiva of Luxembourg; her maternal grandparents were King Robert II of France (The pious) and Constance of Toulouse. She had two brothers and a sister, named Baudouin VI of Flandres, Le Frison and Mathildeof Flandres.  She was the second youngest of the four children. She had a half-sister named Helena of Normandy.  She died at the age of 51 on November 2nd, 1083 in , Caens, Calvados, France.  She was buried on November 3rd, 1083.

‌Mathildeof Flandres and The Conqueror were married in a religious ceremony about 1053.  They had two sons and two daughters, named Robert of Normandy, Beauclerc, Adela of Normandy and Gundred of England.
