Adela of Normandy was born in 1062 in , , Normandy, France.  Adela of Normandy's father was King William I of England (The Conqueror) and her mother was Mathildeof Flandres.  Her paternal grandparents were Duke Robert I of Normandy and Herleve (Arlette) of Falaise; her maternal grandparents were Ct. Baudouin V of Flandres and Prcs Adele of France. She had two brothers and a sister, named Robert of Normandy, Beauclerc and Gundred of England.  She died at the age of 73 on March 8th, 1135 in Marsilly, Aquitaine, France.  She was buried in Caen, Normandy, France.

‌Adela of Normandy and The sage were married in a religious ceremony about 1080.  They had a son and a daughter, named Thibaud IV of Blois and Lithuise of Blois.
