William I of England, known as The Conqueror, was born on October 14th, 1024 in Falaise, Calvados, Normandy, France and his baptism took place in 1066.  The Conqueror's father was Duke Robert I of Normandy and his mother was Herleve (Arlette) of Falaise.  His paternal grandparents were Duke Richard II of Normandy (The good) and Judith of Bretagne; his maternal grandparents were Fulbert of Falaise and Doda. He had a sister named Adelaideof Aumale.  He was the older of the two children. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named The Conqueror, Robert of Cornwall & Mortaigne, Emme of Conteville, of Conteville and Muriel of Conteville.  He died at the age of 62 on September 9th, 1087 in Hermenbraville, Rouen, France.  He was buried on September 10th, 1087 in Caen, Calvados, Normandy, France.


The Conqueror's first family with Mathildeof Flandres

‌The Conqueror and Mathildeof Flandres were married in a religious ceremony about 1053.  They had two sons and two daughters, named Robert of Normandy, Beauclerc, Adela of Normandy and Gundred of England.
