Robert of Cornwall & Mortaigne was born in 1031 in Mortagne-au-Perche, Orne, Normandy, France.  Robert of Cornwall & Mortaigne's father was Visc Herlouin of Conteville and his mother was Herleve (Arlette) of Falaise.  His paternal grandfather was Earl Jean of Toneburgh & Conteville; his maternal grandparents were Fulbert of Falaise and Doda. He had three sisters named Emme of Conteville, of Conteville and Muriel of Conteville.  He was the second oldest of the four children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named The Conqueror, The Conqueror and Adelaideof Aumale.  He died at the age of 64 on December 8th, 1095 in , Normandy.  He was buried in Grestain, , France.
