Hugues of France, known as The Great, was born about 0895 in Paris, Seine, France.  The Great's father was King Robert I of France and his mother was Beatrix of Vermandois.  His paternal grandparents were Graf Rutpert IV in Wormsgau (The strong) and Adelaide(Aelis) of Tours; his maternal grandparents were Ct. Herbert I of Vermandois and Beatrix or Bertha of Morvois. He had a brother named Almaric of Montfort. He had a half-sister named Hildebrante or Liegarde.  He died on June 16th, 0956 in deurdan, Dourdan, France.  He was buried in St. denis, Isle-de-France.


The Great's family with Hedwig of Sachsen

‌The Great and Hedwig of Sachsen were married in a religious ceremony before September 14th, 0938.  They had a son and a daughter, named Hugues of France and Beatrix of France.
