Peter Aartszn was born in January 1743 and his baptism took place on January 20th, 1743 in Harderwijk.1  Peter Aartszn's father was Aart Klaaszn Foppen and his mother was Albertje Aartsdr N.N..  His paternal grandparents were Claes Aartszn Foppen and Jannetje Petersdr N.N.. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Claas Aartszn, Goossen Aartszn, Goossen Aartszn, Aertjen Aartsdr and Geertruijd Aartze.  He was the fourth oldest of the six children. He had four half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Klaas Aartsen, Klaas Aartsen, Claas Aartsen, Gerart Aartsen, Jannetje Aartse and Aaltje Claasdr.
