Claas Aartszn was born in September 1740 and his baptism took place on September 18th, 1740 in Harderwijk.1  Claas Aartszn's father was Aart Klaaszn Foppen and his mother was Albertje Aartsdr N.N..  His paternal grandparents were Claes Aartszn Foppen and Jannetje Petersdr N.N.. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Peter Aartszn, Goossen Aartszn, Goossen Aartszn, Aertjen Aartsdr and Geertruijd Aartze.  He was the third oldest of the six children. He had four half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Klaas Aartsen, Klaas Aartsen, Claas Aartsen, Gerart Aartsen, Jannetje Aartse and Aaltje Claasdr.  He died at the age of 43 in April 1784.  The funeral took place on April 24th, 1784 in Harderwijk.1 1
