Claes Aartszn was born in 1660 in Harderwijk.1  Claes Aartszn's father was Aert Claaszn van Strilandt and his mother was Jannetge Foppen.  His paternal grandparents were Clas Aeltz van Strilandt and Janitgen Artz N.N.; his maternal grandparents were Phoppe Simonszn N.N. and Truijtgen Henrixdr N.N..  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 81 on November 15th, 1741 in Harderwijk.2
