Elizabeth Ellen Groves

Elizabeth was born in March 1869 in Newport, Isle of Wight and her christening took place on April 4th, 1869 in United Methodist, Newport Circuit, Isle of Wight.¹² Elizabeth's father was George Burnett Groves and her mother was Charlotte Saunders. Her paternal grandparents were William Groves and Jane Barnett. She had six brothers and two sisters, named George, James, William, Alfred, Walter, Ernest, Ada and Elsie. She was the oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 80 in 1949 in Isle of Wight. She was buried on September 8th, 1949 in Shanklin, Isle of Wight.³⁴
