Charles Groves

Charles was born on March 29th, 1833 in Whippingham, Isle of Wight and his christening took place there on April 27th, 1834.¹ Charles' father was William Groves and his mother was Jane Barnett. His paternal grandparents were James Groves and Mary Chiverton. He had four brothers and three sisters, named James, Henry, Reuben, George, Jane, Jane and Elizabeth. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 80 in December 1913 in Isle of Wight. He was buried on December 30th, 1913 in Saint James, East Cowes.²³
