James Cannings

James was born on October 7th, 1810 in Laverstock, Wiltshire and his christening took place on November 15th, 1810 in St Martin, Salisbury, Wiltshire.¹ James' father was Thomas Cannings and his mother was Sarah Brown. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Cannings and Ann Austence; his maternal grandparents were John Brown and Sarah Tubb. He had five brothers and four sisters, named William, William, Thomas, Solomon, Daniel, Mary, Harriet, Elizabeth and Sarah. He was the third youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 81 in 1891.¹
