Catherine, known as Kate, was born on April 30th, 1885 in Glasgow.¹²

Kate's father was Henry John Aitken and her mother was Eliza Stobo Rennie. Her maternal grandparents were James Rennie and Catherine (Kate) Stobo. She had a brother and two sisters, named Peter, Isabella and Eliza. She was the oldest of the four children. She died at the age of 85 in April 1970 in Norfolk.³
