Alexander Black 
Alexander was born on August 14th, 1765 in ,Augusta,VA.1 Alexander's father was William Black and his mother was Sarah Hicklin. His paternal grandfather was Alexander Black; his maternal grandfather was Thomas Hicklin. He had three brothers and four sisters, named George, William, Robert, Margaret, Ginney, Rachel and Nancy. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 88 on June 16th, 1854.1 
‌Alexander and Jane were married in a religious ceremony on February 20th, 1793 in Family bible date.1 They had six sons and two daughters, named William, James, Alexander, John, Samuel C, Harrison M, Martha and Sarah.
