William Black

William was born on February 19th, 1796. William's father was Alexander Black and his mother was Jane Crockett. His paternal grandparents were William Black and Sarah Hicklin; his maternal grandparents were James Crockett and Martha Gay. He had five brothers and two sisters, named James, Alexander, John, Samuel C, Harrison M, Martha and Sarah. He was the second oldest of the eight children.
