James Black

James was born on February 8th, 1798. James' father was Alexander Black and his mother was Jane Crockett. His paternal grandparents were William Black and Sarah Hicklin; his maternal grandparents were James Crockett and Martha Gay. He had five brothers and two sisters, named William, Alexander, John, Samuel C, Harrison M, Martha and Sarah. He was the third oldest of the eight children.
