Louisa's father was Thomas Pennington and her mother was Martha Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Elizabeth Roper. She had two brothers and a sister, named John, John and Lilly. She was the third oldest of the four children. She had a half-sister named Mary. She died at the age of 87 on May 22nd, 1958 in Bolton.³

  11 July 1891, Louisa Pennington was witness to Ann Ellen Edwards marriage to Alfred Barlow at St George's, Bolton. The following year she married here.
