Elizabeth from Sharples was the daughter of William Roper, a Quarryman.
Elizabeth married Richard Mather (Carder, son of Richard) in 1837, after Ann and Robert had been born, Richard was recorded as a Cotton Striper in the 1841 census, at Club Houses, Sharples.
Elizabeth's father William Roper (65) and was living with the family at Club Houses, Sharples in 1841. He was described as a Quarry Man from Sharples on her marriage certificate but now an Ag Labourer..

Elizabeth and Richard were married in a religious ceremony on July 24th, 1837 at St. Peter's (Bolton) by Vicar J Slade and witnessed by Hannah Rushton.4 They had two biological sons and five biological daughters, named John, William, Hannah, Martha, Alice, Mary and Ellen. They also had an adopted son and an adopted daughter, named Robert and Ann. There are no more children.
