Ivy's father was Edward Charles Owen and her mother was Annie Roberts.  Her maternal grandparents were Ellis Roberts and Ann (Annie) Jellicoe. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, Charles, James, Herbert, Joseph, Bertha and Sylvia.  She was the youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 60 in July 1987 in Wallasey.²
