Jane was born 10 April 1831 and baptised on the 17th April, the daughter of James Woodward, a labourer and Ann Williams (nee Woodward). This is an error and should be mother Ann Woodward formerly Ann Williams (see sister Ann's baptism).
In 1841 Elizabeth (12), Jane (11). and Lydia (5) are with their brothers and parents James (a coal miner) and Ann at Gorston, near Hinderton and Little Neston. This 1841 census is missing from Ancestry.
in 1855, Edward Jellicoe (Bachelor, Banksman) of Little Neston, son of James Jellicoe (a carter) married Jane Woodward (spinster) of Little Neston, daughter of James Woodward (a schoolmaster).
