Charles' father was Edward Charles Owen and his mother was Annie Roberts.  His maternal grandparents were Ellis Roberts and Ann (Annie) Jellicoe. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, James, Herbert, Joseph, Bertha, Sylvia and Ivy.  He was the third oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 87 in May 1999 in Birkenhead.  He was cremated on May 18th, 1999.¹
