William Mather

William was born in 1814 in Billinge and his baptism took place on July 3rd, 1814 at St. Aidan (Billinge).¹²

William's father was John Mather and his mother was Betty Baxter. His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Ann Berrington. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Richard, James, Jane, Ann, Sarah and Elizabeth. He was the sixth oldest of the eight known children.
