Joshua Mather

Joshua was born in September 1769 in Billinge and his baptism took place on September 24th, 1769 at St. Aidan (Billinge).¹²

Joshua's father was James Mather and his mother was Ann Berrington. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Hannah Rawlinson. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, James, John, William, Peter, Ann, Tabitha and Sarah. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 86 in April 1856 in Billinge.³
