Peter Mather

Peter was born in April 1803 in Billinge and his baptism took place on April 10th, 1803 at St. Aidan (Billinge).¹

Peter's father was John Mather and his mother was Betty Houghton.  His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Elin (Ellen) Shaw. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, John, John, James, William, Ann, Margaret, Hannah, Elizabeth and Alice.  He was the sixth oldest of the eleven known children.  He died at the age of 18 in April 1821 in Billinge.  He was buried on April 20th, 1821 at St. Aidan (Billinge).²
