Sidney's baptism shows that like his father, he is also from Eagley, Sharples near Astley Bridge.
In 1841, Thomas (1) was with his parents at Eagley, Turton
In 1863, Thomas was witness at his sisters Jane's marriage and Ann's marriage in 1864.
In 1861 census, Thomas (20) was indexed as Frances Mather, living with his parents at Park Terrace, Little Bolton
In 1881, Thomas and Betsy (40 & 39) were at 1 Park View, Eagley Bank with Edward (16), Sidney (14), Evelyn (12), Albert (11), Elizabeth Hannah (9), Clara (7), Arthur (5) and Gertrude (3). They had no more children after 1878.

In is possibly Edward, son of William and Margaret born Bolton in 1863 than died in 1898 aged 35. However this is the only Bolton death record between 1891 and 1901. There is a 1893 death of matching age on the Isla of White but that is another Edward born there.
