William Mather

William was born in 1830 in Sharples and his baptism took place on October 17th, 1830 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹²

William's father was Solomon Mather and his mother was Betty Barns. His paternal grandparents were Solomon Mather and Martha (Matty) Ramsden. He had a brother and two sisters, named Thomas, Ann and Jane. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 50 in November 1880 in Sharples. His burial was on November 23rd, 1880 at Christ Church, Walmsley.³⁴

Death Notes
- William died between 1871 and 1881, when wife Alice is recorded as a widow. Death recorded in Ormskirk, but burial shows abode as Sharples (as expected).
