      SOLOMON MATHER who departed this life on the 27th May 1890, Aged 90 years.  Also of BETTY the beloved wife of Solomon Mather who departed this life on the 20th April 1870, aged 67 years.
Solomon was born in 1800 at Hall-i’th’-Wood and his baptism took place about 1800 at Walmsley Presbyterian.1  Solomon's father was Solomon Mather and his mother was Martha (Matty) Ramsden.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Ann Howarth. He had two brothers and five sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named James, Joseph, Betty, Sarah, Mary, Catherine, Ann and <child>.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 90 on May 27th, 1890 in Sharples.  He was buried on May 31st, 1890 at Christ Church, Walmsley.2 3

‌Solomon and Betty were married in a religious ceremony on December 11th, 1825 at St. Peter's (Bolton).7  They had two sons and two daughters, named William, Thomas, Ann and Jane.  There are no more children.
