Catherine was born on June 16th, 1809 at Hall-i’th’-Wood and her baptism took place on July 1st, 1809 in Dukes Alley Chapel (NC).1  Catherine's father was Solomon Mather and her mother was Martha (Matty) Ramsden.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Ann Howarth. She had three brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named James, Solomon, Joseph, Betty, Sarah, Mary, Ann and <child>.  She was the second youngest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 82 in December 1891 in Astley Bridge.  She was buried on December 11th, 1891 at St. Paul's (Astley Bridge).2

‌Catherine and Abraham were married in a religious ceremony on September 18th, 1836 at St. Peter's (Bolton) by Curate C A Hunt and witnessed by James Lowe & James Liptrot.4  They had three sons and five daughters, named Abraham, Samuel, Samuel, Sarah, Martha, Elizabeth, Elizabeth and Elizabeth.  There are no more children.  Elizabeth and Samuel were twins.
