Ann was born on August 2nd, 1813 at Hall-i’th’-Wood and her baptism took place on August 8th, 1813 at Walmsley Presbyterian conducted by minister Thomas Jones.1 2  Ann's father was Solomon Mather and her mother was Martha (Matty) Ramsden.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Ann Howarth. She had three brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named James, Solomon, Joseph, Betty, Sarah, Mary, Catherine and <child>.  She was the youngest of the nine children.  She died due to heart disease, Heart Disease Certified, at the age of 62 on July 18th, 1876 in Sharples.3
