Robert Mather

Robert was born in 1818 in Withnell and his baptism took place on November 22nd, 1818 in Brindle.¹²

Robert's father was James Mather and his mother was Nanny (Ann) Miner. His paternal grandparents were Robert Mather and Peggy Duerden. He had two brothers and five sisters, named James, Jonathan, Peggy, Hannah, Esther, Ann and Elizabeth. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 61 in 1879 in Bolton.³
