Nancy's father was James Mather and her mother was Sarah Makin.  Her paternal grandparents were Elias Mather and Margaret Whittle. She had six brothers and six sisters, named William, John, James, James, James, Thomas, Peggy, Peggy, Ann, Ann, Ann and Sarah.  She was the sixth oldest of the thirteen children.  She died at 4 months old in September 1799 in Bolton.  She was buried on August 9th, 1799 at St. Peter's (Bolton).²
