James Mather

James was born in 1813 in Bolton and his baptism took place on January 2nd, 1814 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

James' father was James Mather and his mother was Sarah Makin.  His paternal grandparents were Elias Mather and Margaret Whittle. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named William, John, James, James, Thomas, Peggy, Peggy, Ann, Ann, Nancy, Ann and Sarah.  He was the second youngest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 44 in July 1857 in Bolton.²
