James Mather

James was born in 1813 in Bolton and his baptism took place on January 2nd, 1814 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

James' father was James Mather and his mother was Sarah Makin. His paternal grandparents were Elias Mather and Margaret Whittle. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named William, John, James, James, Thomas, Peggy, Peggy, Ann, Ann, Nancy, Ann and Sarah. He was the twelfth oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 44 in July 1857 in Bolton.²

General Notes
- Who was this James that died in 1857 in W Bolton, aged 44? It cant be the James b.1813 who married Margaret Stockton (aka Slater) as he was still alve, living in Sharples in 1861. He must be the daughter of James and Sarah (or illigitimate son of Ann Mather).
