Ann Mather

Ann was born in 1796 in Bolton and her baptism took place on April 10th, 1796 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

Ann's father was James Mather and her mother was Sarah Makin. Her paternal grandparents were Elias Mather and Margaret Whittle. She had six brothers and six sisters, named William, John, James, James, James, Thomas, Peggy, Peggy, Ann, Nancy, Ann and Sarah. She was the fourth oldest of the thirteen children. She died as an infant in August 1796 in Bolton. Her burial was on August 30th, 1796 in Darcy Lever.²

  Page 48 of the burials book is titled "Burials at Lever Chapel in the year 1794". On the same page we then have "Burials at Lever Chapel in the year 1795" with 22 burials between Jan and Nov 19. The following pages (including this record on p.58) must be for Bolton as there are far too many for Lever, and also they start again at Jan 1795. After Dec-1796 records finish on page 59 there are burials for Little Bolton Chapel.
