Elias was a weaver when he married Margaret in 1763, but later became a soldier (as shown on son John's baptism of 1776 and Chelsea pensioner record).
He (or perhaps a son Elias) may have married Nancy Wrigley at Prestwich in 1795.
Elias and Margaret were married in a religious ceremony on February 15th, 1763 at St. Peter's (Bolton).2 They had two sons named James and John. There are no more children.
