John, son of James and Mary of Whitefield, was born 31 Jan 1811.
17 Aug 1834, John Mather married Lucy Hilton at Prestwich St Mary. Note: There is also a John Mather and Lucy Vickers, married Manchester Nov 1841.
In 1841, John and Lucy (both 30) were with John's father James (67) at Cookstal Fold (by Whitefield) with Lewis (7), Mary (5), Sally (3) and Alice (1).
In 1848, when John was baptised the family were living in Elton, near Bury.
In 1851, John and Lucy (both 40) were at Whitefield with 7 children. Alice was away and Rachel had died.
