James Mather was married to a Mary born 1788. The marriage to Mary Evans at Prestwich probably too early as Mary would only be 16 (and James 31). It is more likely James married Mary Walker in 1807.
15 Oct 1807, James Mather married Mary Walker, both of Whitefields at Prestwich.
In 1808 they had a daugher Betty.
In 1811, John Mather was born at Whitefield and baptised at Prestwich.
This cannot be the James Mather and Mary Evans family from Bury, as they had a son James born 1 Aug 1811.
